Set Up Automatic, Recurring Payments

Recurring payments allow you to have your invoiced installment amount automatically withdrawn from your checking or savings account on the installment due date. Recurring payments save you time and money because you don’t have to write checks or pay to mail them, and you don’t even have to take the time to go online to pay; payment is automatically drafted at the right time. Mutual Benefit’s recurring payment program is available for both personal and commercial insurance accounts.

Are there installment or service fees?

An installment fee of $2 will be charged on any payment when using the recurring payment option.

If I sign up for recurring payments, will I still receive an invoice?

No, you will not receive an invoice every month. We will send you a notice only when your withdrawal amount changes by $2 or more due to a change to your policy/account.

Can I have my payment withdrawn from a savings account or charged to a credit card?

We can withdraw a recurring payment from a checking or savings account, but not from a credit card.

How can I sign up for recurring payments?

You will need to enroll as a new user and register for an online account:

  • Navigate to our online payment portal, here.
  • Have your policy or account number and billing zip code ready.
  • Click the “New user? Register here” link in the “Log In” box.
  • Complete the required information on the Enrollment page.

Once enrolled, you may set up a recurring payment to be automatically deducted from your bank account:

  • Click on the “Payment” tab, then choose the “View Payment Accounts” option.
  • On the View Payment Accounts page, click on the “Add Bank Account” button.
  • Enter the requested information and click on the “Submit” button.
  • Click on the “Payment” tab, then choose the “View Recurring Payment” option.
  • On the Recurring Profile page, click on the “Add Recurring Payments” button.
  • Choose the enrolled policy/account you wish to set up on a recurring payment, as well as the bank account you wish to use for payment.
  • Click “Submit” when finished.

NOTE: You will need to pay any invoice that you have received to date for the policy/account that you would like to enroll for recurring payment.

Your first recurring payment will be on the next billing cycle. Recurring payments will be deducted from your bank account on your policy/account number due date.

If you don’t have regular access to a computer and would like to sign up for recurring payments, you must complete and sign Mutual Benefit’s EFT Recurring Payment Authorization Form and return it to your insurance agent or to Mutual Benefit Group by mailing it to 409 Penn Street, PO Box 577, Huntingdon, PA 16652; by faxing it to 814-643-7210 or by e-mailing it to mbgdbill@thembg.com.

If you have questions about signing up for recurring payments, or need assistance, please call your insurance agent, whose name and number is located in the upper right-hand corner of your invoice; or, dial Mutual Benefit’s office at 1-800-283-3531 ext. 2790 to speak with a billing customer service representative.

Payment Plans

Does Mutual Benefit charge billing fees?

You can avoid a service fee by paying in full when you receive your initial invoice. Otherwise:

  • A $6 service fee will be charged each time you make a payment.
  • A $10 or a $15 late fee, assessed in Maryland and Pennsylvania respectively, may be charged on any payment that is not received in our office by the due date listed on the billing statement.
  • A $30 fee will be charged for non-sufficient funds.
  • A $2 service fee is charged for each recurring payment.
  • Commercial customers in Pennsylvania who pay their premium using MBG’s interactive voice response (IVR) phone payment option will be charged a convenience fee of $7.95.

With MBG easyPAY, you can choose from among four convenient payment plans:

  • Pay in Full
Pay the full amount due when your invoice arrives and pay no service fees.

  • Semi-annual
Pay half your premium when your invoice arrives, and half later in the year. *Not available for six month policies.

  • Quarterly
Pay one-fourth of your premium down and the rest in three additional payments. *Not available for six month policies.
  • Make a Flexible Payment
Pay any amount between the listed minimum payment due and the maximum due (the full remaining balance), much the same way you might handle payment of a credit card bill. The only requirement is that you pay at least the minimum due at the time of billing to keep your account current. Once enrolled in Flex Pay, you can then change to EFT (recurring payments), which provides the option of having equal payments for every month remaining in the term automatically withdrawn from your bank account.
